I’ve been diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis.
Is surgery my only option?
In a word, no! Many studies show that conservative care is just as effective as surgery without all of the potential adverse outcomes that are possible with surgery.
MRI, like the one above, is often used to diagnose Spinal Stenosis but most studies show that there is little to no correlation between MRI findings and what your back and legs feel like. One study showed that 47% of people with abnormal MRI findings were completely asymptomatic.
So what should you do? First you should understand that even with surgery, you are only hoping for a small decrease in your symptoms. Secondly you should realize that you can probably achieve those same results through conservative chiropractic care, certain stretches, exercises and possibly changing up your diet or adding some supplements to you diet. Thirdly, if you would like to see if our treatments will help in your case, just give us a call and come in and we can discuss it further.
A Spinal Stenosis diagnosis does not necessarily mean surgery is in your future. There may be other ways to decrease your symptoms that are natural and just as effective. Call today for a free second opinion and review of your MRI.
